Singapore – Jianghu Hotpot

I do not know when Jianghu Hotpot open its outlet at Northpoint city. We remembered seeing the outlet for the first time sometimes in mid December (2021) and we decided to visit them during new year eve.

At the point of writing, we have visited Jianghu Hotpot twice. When we first visited them on new year eve and I believe we were there around 2.30pm. OMG we waited almost 1.5 hours just to have a seat. It was just so crazy, the way the seats were arranged it cater more towards group size of 2 person. They were seated much faster than us even if they were way behind in the queue. For any group size between 3 – 5 person just be prepared to wait for a very long time.

The time limit for the buffet is 90 mins and the 2 in 1 buffet (BBQ + Hotpot) is the standard option which most opted for this. You can also choose to top up for grilled fish buffet. While we were there, I do not see much people opting for that. Price point wise I think it’s alright.

  • Adult: S$ 27.8++ (Mon to Fri Lunch) / S$ 29.8++ (Mon to Fri Dinner, Weekend & PH holidays (whole day).
  • Student: S$ 25.8++ (Mon to Fri Lunch) / S$ 27.8++ (Mon to Fri Dinner, Weekend & PH holidays (whole day).
  • Child (1.1 to 1.4m): S$ 13.9++ (Mon to Fri Lunch) / S$ 14.9++ (Mon to Fri Dinner, Weekend & PH holidays (whole day).

There is also a Chinese hotpot buffet located at the basement of the Northpoint new wing. The different between this two is that at Jianghu there is a BBQ option which I think most would gravitate too. There are 10 different types of soup bases to choose from and it is refillable.

  • Signature Vegetable Spicy Soup
  • Mix Thick Spicy Oil
  • Tom Yum Seafood Soup
  • Silkie Chicken Soup
  • Pig Trotter Soup
  • Tomato Soup
  • Sichuan Pickled Fish Soup
  • Mushroom Soup
  • Lung Nourishing Hylocereus flower & Sea Coconut Soup
  • Pork Bone Soup

Most of the soup options sound good however, for both visit I opted for Sichuan Pickled Fish Soup which I felt was more appetizing for me. For a single flavor soup base it S$ 2.80 and if you prefer you can also opt for double soup base at the price of S$ 3.80 (per pax).

I feel the spread of the food is fair, of course there was some items which was a hit while some was a miss. I really enjoyed their US prime beef, pork belly, prawn (so fresh) and the deep fried glutinous rice ball (So good!) Their dipping sauce is just as delicious, enhancing the flavour of the meat.

During our first visit, we received a voucher for either a free crayfish or Spanish black pork. So we decided to tried the crayfish on our second visit which in our option was kind of lackluster. I tried both ways – boil it in the soup and BBQing it. Sadly, both does not yield good outcome somehow it was tasteless. I remembered having crayfish while in China many years back and the meat was sweet and delicious. I guess I will stick to prawns for my subsequent visit which in our opinion taste better and most importantly fresh.

Overall, we truly enjoyed our meal at Jianghu Hotpot on both occasion and would definitely go back for more in the near future. Do give it a try and let me know what you think.
