Singapore – Windsor Nature Park

HAPPY 2022 everyone!! May all of you be happy and safe always! Thank you for visiting my humble blog.

Remembered a few blogs back, I talked about us wanting to visit Windsor Nature Park as part of our walking trail but had to give up after visiting Lower Peirce Reservoir. After that walking trail we went back and visited Windsor Nature Park a few times and really enjoyed ourselves. It a very short walk and very manageable.

The beginning of the walk feels like we are back in a Kampong, lush greenery greeted us and we can hear the water trickling down the stream. Usually when I am in such environment, mozzie will always attack me. Thankfully, I was spared while we were there!

We followed the boardwalk trail and saw dragonflies flying around, fishes swimming in the stream. Toward the end of the boardwalk, we had a decision to make, either follow the Squirrel trail or continue on with Venus link. We decided to take the Squirrel trail and we entered a somewhat forestry trail. We could hear the cars driving by us and I was wondering to myself where these cars are heading too. There is a building but I cannot recall what it was.

At the end of the squirrel / Drongo trail, it lead us MacRitchie Reservoir Park (which we will talk about in another post). At the point of writing I cannot remember which one is the boardwalk trail and the dirt trail. During our first visit to Windsor Nature Park, we first tried the dirt trail and when we reached the “junction” leading to MacRitchie Reservoir Park we make a U-turn and follow the boardwalk trail back to the main entrance of Windsor Nature Park. We very much prefer the boardwalk trail as it was much easier and it became our go to route when we visit the park. in one of our visit we saw wild boars.

Lo and behold, on that faithful day on our very first visit to Windsor Nature Park while we are walking toward Thomson Plaza both the sole of my shoes took turns to drop off!! I am so grateful that it did not fall off while I’m in the park. Thankfully we were not very far off from Thomson Plaza. In fact there was a shoe repair shop that happens to be open early in the morning but the price to have the soles glued back to my shoes was so expensive! I simply could not part my money to have my shoe fixed when I could have easily asked my dad to help me with it (which I did).

Buying a new pair of shoe was not an option I was considering – I do not need a pair of new shoes since working from home is default at where I was working. And there isn’t any shops that sells slippers.

Luckily I was saved by DAISO!!! I managed to score the one and only pair of “aunty black & pink” bathroom slippers which coincidentally matches my outfit for the day! I must say a potential crisis was averted (in my case) and I can go ahead to have brekkie at a coffee shop – Singapore – Fish Soup we usually visit which was out of Thomson Plaza. Brekkie was delicious and I look ridiculous which my parents kept laughing at me. Oh well ~ The moral of the story… If you owns many pairs of shoes at home, make sure you give them some love by wearing them and not let them seat at a corner and be forgotten.

Till then take care!

XOXO
