A friend introduced this to me sometime last year and since then I have visited Khao Hom a few times. Brought friends over to try and they too agree that Khao Hom serves pretty good Thai foods.
Khao Hom have been established for quite some time now. From their website it was mentioned that their food recipe was originated from Rung Mama’s kitchen – and from her home, it has built many nostalgic feelings in Singapore since the 80’s.
What I like about this place is that you get to customised the spicy level of certain dishes such as the Tom Yum soup, salad, etc. In my opinion, the extra spicy isn’t that spicy, then again it’s subject to each spicy tolerance. 🤪
Till date they have 2 outlets and the one I visited is at Djitsun Mall.
- 5 Ang Mo Kio Central 2 Djitsun Mall, #01-06, Singapore 569663
- 88 East Coast Road, Katong Square, #01-05/06/07, Singapore 423371
During my first visit, I had their salted egg mango salad, fried intestine, tom yum soup and steam squid with lime. For my subsequent visit tom yum soup is a must. It comes with 2 big prawns with plenty of squids which can be found in the soup.

If you are a crab lover, you have to try their rolled omelette with crab meat. This dish was inspired by a 1 star Michelin rolled omelette in Thailand (I think). Though it is expensive but I feel it’s worth giving it a try. The serving of crab meat is generous and the meat is so firm. It also comes with chilli dipping sauce which *ahem* is not that spicy.

Also tried their red Ruby with coconut gelato. Delicious but my only wish is that the ice was crush finer so it would flow smoothly down the throat instead of having to bite the crushed ice.

In any case my visit to Khao Hom is wonderful. Each time I leave the restaurant, I look forward to visiting them again. If you are looking to satisfy your Thai food craving, you might want to give Khao Hom a try.
XOXO
