Not a huge fan of La Mian/ramen noodles; hence I kind of hesitate to patronize them. But I have been seeing long queues so I guess it should be Delicious! A friend recommended that we have our early dinner there as they served good noodles. Not wanting to be the spoilsport – I agreed.
And this happens to be the first few restaurants I visited in 2021! We were there probably around 5pm, in no time the restaurant was slowly getting crowded! Also there were not many sitting area and a few tables were occupied by single dinner. Maybe if they have the table separator screen where single dinner may share tables perhaps the waiting time will not be so long.
As the name of the restaurant suggested the main focus of this noodles bar is Beef. Fret not if you don’t take beef there are also pork and fish options (Not a lot though). For the noodles options I am so glad they have 河粉 (kway teow/pho) option on top of La Mian and 1 other noodle option which I can’t remember.
I ordered spicy pork chop 河粉 (kway teow/pho). The serving is generous (and I struggled to finish since I wasn’t so hungry yet). Before I mixed the spicy sauce with the rest of the broth I took a few sips to try the original pork bone broth. I must say the broth was delicious and sweet. It has a rich flavour and it doesn’t taste / have the strong smell of pork.

From the menu, it was mention that over 30kg of fresh ingredients were used to simmer the broth (pork bone) over slow fire for more than 12 hours. At the end of simmering they are left with 8kg worth of rich collagen and protein broth.
The spicy sauce reminds me of Sichuan hotpot soup base with a hint of mala. The 河粉 (kway teow/pho) is those thin flat type and it is easy to slurp since the texture of the noodles is smooth and not soggy/over cooked. Pork chop was also fried to perfection and one is still able to taste the sweetness of the pork.
We also tried their side dishes – braised beef tendon, beef and dumplings. Each has its own merits. For the braised beef on the first bite it was difficult to identify the type of meat. It was very tender and it tasted either like pork or beef. Somehow it kinds of remind me of the tin stewed pork chop from Narcissus brand though it not as tender as LeNu braised beef. (Oops! Just my honest opinion when I first tried it).

Would I visit them again? For sure yeah I truly enjoyed my meal! Since there are different noodles options to choose from and I would like to give their braised beef broth a try too. Hopefully the next time when I feel like having a steaming hot bowl of noodles soup the queue will not be too long!
Let me know what is your favourite broth and noodles options. Since today is the 2nd day of Chinese Lunar New Year, wishing all of you a happy and prosperous year ahead!
XOXO
