I have visited Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve a number of times over the past years. In my most recent visit, I would have never thought that it will be crowded even though its bird migratory period. Perhaps it was due to COVID and more people are willing to explore the nature side of Singapore.
While I was there I see groups of people walking around the coastal boardwalk area carrying packed food. I wonder where are they planning to have their “picnic” around the area? 🧐
At the coastal boardwalk area, pods were constructed at various points to allow us to see the reserve and the sea and I really like the design of the pods. During my previous visit we had the pods to ourselves and I was able to capture some lovely shots! It seems like we are in some faraway places other than Singapore! Somehow it felt very calm and peaceful.

As it was the migratory period and I was hoping to see different species of birds this time round. In the past if I am lucky and get to see milky storks or maybe not a single bird. It could also be the timing we arrived at the wetland during my recent visit. I believe we reached probably after 12 noon and I only managed to see some storks, a monitor lizard, a crocodile and a group of bats.
Nonetheless, it feels good to be surrounded by nature and to take a slow stroll around the reserve.
XOXO
