Singapore – My Favourite Cafe

Shopping around orchard and want to try something local? Do give this Hakka Chinese cuisine – Yong Tau Foo a try!

Head over to My Favourite Cafe, located at Level 6 of Lucky Plaza. Lucky Plaza is beside Tang Plaza or if you are shopping around Takashimaya at Ngee Ann City you can take the underpass. The entrance to the underpass is on the right turn after Sabon.

During the weekdays lunch hours, it is usually very crowded with office workers. To avoid the crowd, you will need to reach the place before 12 noon sharp, otherwise be prepared to wait for a while.

They are open almost every day except for Chinese Lunar New Year. They are known for their huge chewy Korean mushroom and fried meat ball. During Chinese Lunar New Year, you can also pre-order these two items and add it to your reunion steamboat.

There is a wide selection of items such as tofu stuffed with fish paste or ground meat, assorted vegetables and mushrooms, processed items, seaweed, fried yam, boiled egg and etc.

You can select any items of your choice up to seven items and can opt for either soup with noodles/rice or dry with sweet sauce and chilli pastes.

Given it location, I must say their price is pretty reasonable and affordable. The broth of the soup is sweet and if you enjoy slightly spicy food you can add the chilli pastes into the soup and it taste heavenly!

Go give it a try and let me know what you think!
