After our visit to Monte Bre, we visited Gandria. Once again as it was the public holidays, we had to walk to Gandria. From Monte Bre funicular, we asked for direction and was told that from the left turn we can walk all the way to Gandria. As we took bus 10 up to the station, I recall that it was not that simple as it was kind of up hill with a number of turns. Worried that we would get lost we decided to walk back to the funicular station.
As we wall back to the station, we saw a group of tourists coming out from nowhere. Then we saw this another funicular station but there was no one at the station and we were not sure if we need to pay for it or if we could take a ride. There was no English announcement so we thought this was not the right one. Thinking there should be another path to walk down hill nearby the residential area (beside the station). We decided to try that route.

Lo and be hold, instead of finding a path to lead us down hill we ended up walking one round at the quiet residential area and admiring the beautiful houses before we were back to square one. Back to the 2nd funicular station!!
We went back to the 2nd station and waited for a while. Help came when we saw tourists! We approached them and they told us its free and we can take the funicular which will lead us down hill! When we reach the bottom of the hill and follow some people to walk out to the main street. It suddenly dawn on me that I should had alighted at the bus stop which was nearby that area and take 2 funicular rides to reach Monte Bre.

From there I check google map and I need to turn left and walk along the lake and it will lead us to Gandria. The walk was very picturesque and you know what we end up at the same place where bus 2/ bus 10 will make their final stop! Instead of turning left to the bus stop, we just need turn right and walk all the way straight. I was wondering if we could had shorten the distance should we followed the direction and walk downward from the funicular station.
There were many locals who were enjoying their hike/walk either with their family/friends and with their dog. They were dress appropriately, when we look at our outerwear tsk tsk we were not dress for the right activity! The type of outerwear we were wearing was more suitable for sightseeing or chilling somewhere in a nice cafe or restaurant. We should be wearing a more sporty jacket, instead of some wool coat!
Gandria I believe will be very busy during summer/spring season, as there were quite a number of hotels, holiday houses and restaurants. However, they were all closed during our visit. At the end of the walk/hike there was a church but we didn’t hear much Christmas caroling. Nonetheless, we enjoy our walk/hike. This was one of the day throughout our stay in Switzerland that we walked the most.
After a long day, we had some Ice-cream and brought a pizza back to our hotel and call it a night! Enjoy some of the photos which I had capture while we were there. It will be even better if you get to visit this place and see how beautiful it was through your own eyes.
XOXO
