After 13 hours and 20 mins, we finally arrived at Zurich!! First stop was to pick up our Wifi router from the Zurich Airport Service Center.

Initially, I was thinking of getting the Wifi router from Changi Recommends where I was considering to rent their Pay-Per GB Plan where they charge based on data usage. It was much more affordable as compare to the standard plan based on per day rental which cost S$12/day.

With Pay-Per GB Plan I was thinking that I could limit the amount of data used during the day. Thus, I was looking at the options of 4 GB per day. As I was trying to do my reservation, I realized that I could not proceed further as there was a cap on the numbers of days I could rent. The limit was 15 days. Although my trip was 15 days, I need to collect the router 1 day earlier due to my flight timing. What a bummer as I didn’t want to pay so much for a wifi router.

Should I proceed with the standard plan it will set me back at S$192 for the whole trip. It also has a limit on my data usage, should I max out my daily quota the speed will slow down. I am not very keen as the router will be connected to 3 mobile phones.

Did some googling and found this website – travelerwifi.com (this was not sponsored). It has unlimited data coverage at Switzerland with best local 4G / LTE Network! There was no cap as to how much data I can used in a day, the speed will not be reduce and I read many good review about this product!

For a daily rate of CHF 5.90 per day it was definitely a better option for me as compared to the one from Changi Recommends. The total cost was around CHF 125.90 (15 Days) + CHF 4.50 (Pre-Paid returned Envelope) = CHF 130.40 which is approximate S$176.

Making the reservation was easy breezy and I can made payment either via Credit Card or PayPal. Upon payment confirmation an email confirmation with directions to where to pick up the wifi router of your choice location will be provided. Picking up the wifi router was also fuss free. There were numerous options for one to choose from. Either pick it up from your preferred airport or had it delivered to the hotel of your choice. In the pre-paid envelope, it contain the following… router, plug, cable, feedback card, user manual, security seal (to be affixed on the pre-paid envelope when returning the router) and a piece of chocolate!

When its time to return the router, an email reminder will be send to you. Should you need to extend the usage of the router, you can email to them requesting for extension with the new return date together with your booking ID.

The experience of using the wifi router was very simple, just click the button and link it up to your mobile. Internet connection was very fast and I could get connection when I am Matterhorn!

I really enjoy using this product and the internet speed was simply amazing. I recommend you to try out this product. It was definitely worth it for me as I don’t need to worry if I had internet connection at the most critical time. Do give it a try should you be visiting Switzerland. I think it was worth splurging a little for a good wifi connection.

XOXO
